LTE & 5G Network Consulting

Private LTE and 5G expertise from the team behind a live licensed network.

Consulting

Operator-led LTE and 5G consulting

Most consultants talk about wireless networks. Nimbus runs one. The consulting work is led by founder and lead engineer Michael Halls, but the value is the live operating experience behind him: RF design, radio integration, mobile-core engineering, spectrum strategy, backhaul, and the day-to-day discipline of keeping a licensed network working for real customers in difficult terrain.

What Nimbus Brings

Depth you can't fake

Field-proven LTE and 5G operations

Nimbus designs, deploys, and maintains a licensed LTE and 5G wireless network across the high desert, canyons, and mountains of Southwest Colorado every day. The production LTE core serves roughly 560 subscribers across multiple base stations, and the radio layer has been tuned in the field, including Nokia carrier-aggregation work that has seen real-world downlink past 275 Mbps on Rapid5GS Pro. You get the judgment of an operator solving live-network problems, not a consultant reading from a slide deck.

Mobile core engineering, top to bottom

Nimbus builds and optimizes mobile cores, not just installs them. Rapid5GS Pro was built for The Edge Mile and is used in production work; the same hands-on engineering extends through Open5GS, Druid RAEMIS, and Thorium, a clean-room 4G LTE EPC and 5G standalone core now in testing. That means subscriber state, control and user plane separation, packet-core signaling, and the operational pieces that decide whether a network survives outside the lab.

Multi-vendor radio expertise

Nimbus programs and integrates LTE systems across major vendors, so your network is not locked to one box:

  • Nokia
  • Baicells
  • Airspan
  • Telrad
  • CableFree

From base station configuration to end-to-end integration, the radio layer and core are tuned to work together.

RF design and PCI planning

RF design, PCI planning, site and tower engineering, and backhaul, the groundwork that decides whether a network performs or fights you for years. Nimbus plans it the way an operator who has to live with the result would.

Spectrum and licensing know-how

Nimbus brings FCC auction experience, 2.5 GHz licensing, and Band 53 specification work in collaboration with Hawk Networks and Global Telecom. We can guide licensed, CBRS, and Priority Access spectrum strategy from real experience.

Built for critical infrastructure

Nimbus deploys CableFree CBRS radios that run 4G today and upgrade to 5G on the same hardware, a software upgrade with no rip-and-replace. That work includes a private SCADA, IoT, and field-operations network for a U.S. national laboratory.

How It Works

How an engagement works

  1. 1

    Talk through your project

Walk us through what you're building, the spectrum you have or want, and the coverage and capacity you need.

  2. 2

    Assess and design

Nimbus scopes the RF design, core, radios, and backhaul, then lays out a plan built to perform in the field, not just on paper.

  3. 3

    Build and configure

From mobile core to base station programming, the network is stood up and tuned with the same operator discipline that runs our own network.

  4. 4

    Operate and hand off

Optimization, troubleshooting, and ongoing operations, or a clean handoff to your team once it's running the way it should.

Why Nimbus

Built from real field work

Nimbus runs a real network

Most consultants talk about wireless. Nimbus operates a licensed LTE and 5G network in the field every day.

Vendor-agnostic depth

Nokia, Baicells, Airspan, Telrad, and CableFree radios, plus Open5GS, Rapid5GS, and Druid RAEMIS cores. The right tool, not one vendor’s pitch.

Spectrum credentials

FCC auction experience and 2.5 GHz licenses, with hands-on CBRS and Priority Access strategy.

Standards work, not buzzwords

Band 53 specification work alongside Hawk Networks and Global Telecom, plus Thorium core development now in testing.

Questions

Frequently asked

Who would I actually be working with?
You work directly with Michael Halls, the founder and lead engineer of Nimbus Solutions, backed by the same operation that runs the Nimbus network in the field every day.
Does Nimbus offer LTE and 5G consulting outside its service area?
Yes. Beyond providing internet across Southwest Colorado, Nimbus consults on private LTE and 5G network design, deployment, and operations for operators and organizations anywhere.
What is Rapid5GS, and what is Thorium?
Rapid5GS Pro is the mobile-core deployment toolkit Nimbus built for The Edge Mile and uses in production work. Thorium is Nimbus’s clean-room 4G LTE EPC and 5G standalone core, in testing now; it is not yet the live production core.
Which radios and cores do you work with?
Radios from Nokia, Baicells, Airspan, Telrad, and CableFree, and mobile cores including Open5GS, Rapid5GS, Druid RAEMIS, and Thorium in testing. Nimbus handles RF design, PCI planning, site and backhaul engineering, and end-to-end integration.
Can you help with spectrum and licensing?
Yes. Nimbus brings FCC auction experience, 2.5 GHz licensing, and Band 53 specification work with Hawk Networks and Global Telecom. We can advise on licensed, CBRS, and Priority Access spectrum strategy.
Who do you typically work with?
WISPs and rural broadband operators, municipalities and utilities, agricultural and industrial operations, and any organization that needs a private, reliable wireless network built by someone who has actually done it.
